Background

  • 1972, ALSAPAN is founded by the STRUB family, 2 brothers and a sister, Marie-Elisabeth LANOUX.
  • 1976, production of machined parts for the furniture industry.
  • 1994, ALSAPAN invents wrapping, a machining process for furniture profiles.
  • 1995, launch of EPI with a laminated flooring production facility designed for the production of large volumes. The objective is to use the full capacity of the production facilities to provide worldwide distribution of the products for all the flooring retail circuits.
  • 1997, EPI is listed on the stock market. Net sales reach €100 million within 5 years.
  • 2000, acquisition of OZOO, the fourth-largest French manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture.
  • 2001, EURÉMO, an Alsatian furniture subcontractor, joins the group.
  • 2002, acquisition of Hautecoeur, a company designing and marketing furniture manufactured in Southeast Asia.
  • 2003, creation of the Shenzen purchasing affiliate, in China.
  • 2004, Groupe EPI is founded , combining the strengths of ALSAPAN and EPI FLOORING to form the bedrock for a strategy of breaking into new markets. The EPI group becomes the biggest consumer of laminate panels in Europe. ALSAPAN is able to leverage its increased purchasing power for raw materials and enjoys financial stability, along with a manufacturing organisation based on process and product quality
  • 2005, merger of EURÉMO (Erstein) and the ALSAPAN furniture department.
  • 2007, WELLE France, manufacturer of bedroom furniture, joins the group.
  • From 2007 to 2010, ALSAPAN drives a program to turn each of its production sites into a specialist facility, while optimising its production resources, rationalising transport costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • 2010 : has 600 employees in its 4 facilities and enjoys annual net sales of €113 million.
